I trained at  the London College of Furniture and have over 25 years experience in traditional, contemporary and contract upholstery. In my early years I worked as an apprentice building up my skills and knowledge in the craft before opening Porterhouse Design in 2006.

We are a friendly professional team with a passion for what we do. We will always be honest in our appraisal of your furniture and give the best advice on how to treat each piece.

Keeping the traditional craft of upholstery alive and passing it on is central to our ethos. Teaching the next generation of traditional upholsterers is important to us. In the not too distant future we hope to offer workshops for budding upholsterers to get a taste of our craft, and courses for those who wish to pursue upholstery more seriously, watch this space!

The shop

In our shop you will find predominantly vintage and antique furniture that has been re-upholstered in our own workshop.  In the Porterhouse we love furniture as much as the craft and we hate to see a piece go to ruin so from time to time we will update the online store with some of our restored finds.

If you would like to view a piece you are welcome to pop down to our workshop for a test drive. Just give us a call and we will make sure there is someone on hand to help.

Our prices do not include a delivery charge. If you live within London we can deliver for a small fee, alternatively you are welcome to send your own courier or collect from our workshop in N16.
